Students should follow the course structure for the course version relevant to the year they commenced. This version applies to students whose commencement year for this course is 2001 to 2004.

The Bachelor of Psychology award is a four-year undergraduate program. For those students who meet the entry requirements the normal fourth year of the course is an honours program. These students undertake specialised research and graduate with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) graded award. The fourth year of study for the remaining students in the Bachelor of Psychology will comprise three electives, a year-long research methods seminar, and an empirical research project presented as a thesis. Students intending to apply for the honours program must do so by 31 October of their third year of study. The honours program is a year long, single 80-credit-point unit, that will be divided into four main components:

• Thesis (50%);

• Contemporary Issues in Psychology and History and Philosophy of Psychology (two seminars); and

• Research Methods seminars (50%)

Students not undertaking honours complete the specialist program in their fourth year.

Accreditation
This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC). Graduates of this award will be eligible for Provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and for associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
