This course equips students with the skills and knowledge for a successful career as a professional in information technology (IT) in industry, commerce and government. The course has a practical orientation and besides covering the traditional computing areas of programming, systems analysis and design and data communications it covers the contemporary IT areas of the internet and web communications. Students also have the flexibility to mould their studies to their interests and career ambitions by specialising in an area of their choice by selecting appropriate electives.

Upon satisfactory completion of this degree, students are eligible for admission as members to the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 240 credit points which include the units listed in the recommended sequence below.
