The major gives students knowledge and laboratory skills consistent with modern microbiology including standard aseptic techniques, microbial identification, microbial genetics and metabolism. Level 3 units offer students the choice to focus on specific microbiological disciplines as they apply to the workplace such as medical, environmental and industrial microbiology.
