It is expected that students will have a general basic knowledge of communication design theories and processes and specifically an introductory level understanding of graphic and typographic design principles.
About this Unit
This is a practice-oriented unit, designed to teach students how to negotiate and visually communicate complex information across a variety of situations. It provides students with an understanding of the principles of visual representation and information visualization in the designed world. Through classroom exercises students develop visual strategies to identify community-based concerns and clients, and are involved in the production of designed outcomes appropriate to budgetary constraints.
