Assumed Knowledge
It is expected that students will have a general intermediate knowledge of communication design theories and processes and specifically an intermediate level understanding of graphic and typographic design principles. A working knowledge of graphic identity systems and data visualization and how these processes relate to a corporate context.


About this Unit
This 200 level unit identifies, situates and explores the relatively recent history of information design as a specialist field, the embedded communication theories relating to this area of expertise and the potential for practice in the community and throughout the world. This unit focuses on using international and localised techniques of graphic design and its devices in the visual delivery of information and statistical data, explanation of concepts and process.
