About this Unit
This unit focuses on the demands that complex non-naturalistic texts written for performance, both contemporary and classical, make on performers and performance makers. It is a practical study of processes of preparing a public performance. It focuses on the study, understanding and development of essential skills in rehearsal. These include the generation of economical but moving action/interactions when handling dense vocabulary and syntax, releasing tension, sustaining group working environments, acting, dramaturgical research and text analysis.
