About this Unit
This unit has been replaced by 101323 - Culture, Health and Healing in Indigenous Communities. This unit provides the opportunity for students to develop their understanding of health, illness and healing, with a specific focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues. Social and cultural perspectives on health, healing and community development are discussed, and a variety of practices for health and healing are explored, in the context of indigenous communities. Their implications for non-indigenous practices of health and healing may be identified and discussed.
