About this Unit
Decision Support Systems (DSS) are computer-based interactive systems which support decision makers in managing the organisations effectively. This unit deals with the types of problems faced by the managers in managing the organisations and how the technology can assist them in analysing the problems and find alternative solutions. Students learn collection, analysis and management of knowledge required for decision support systems. This knowledge is then integrated with the Artificial Intelligence (Intelligent Systems, Knowledge Based Systems, Machine Learning etc) to demonstrate how the 'intelligence' required by the decision support systems can be applied to assist the management.
