About this Unit
Current and emerging web technologies have transformed organisations and impacted on both the technological and strategic aspects of successful on-line business. This unit provides a comprehensive overview of the technologies underlying e-business and includes a focus on web site strategies. Topics include the application of technologies such as EDI, web site promotion techniques, application integration, security and electronic payment systems. The unit develops skills in planning the development of e-business systems, including hardware and software choices, as well as web site effectiveness. Legal, ethical and taxation issues, online fraud, intellectual property and copyright are also examined within a technological context.
