About this Unit
This is a capstone unit that builds on the skills acquired by the students in programming and systems analysis and development. It covers the areas of information and knowledge management in an enterprise. The unit first establishes a standard terminology and then analyses and discusses in depth, concepts, issues, methodologies and strategies for development of enterprise information systems. It provides frameworks that can be applied to cope with the challenges inherent in the implementation of rapidly advancing technologies, including the legal, social and ethical issues in order to enable enterprises to become digital organisations, able to operate globally. The unit emphasises a controlled and coordinated approach to sharing information and knowledge within an enterprise and with other organisations.
