About this Unit
This unit examines ecology of plant and animal populations with particular emphasis on local populations. Students consider the costs and benefits of the use by humans of these natural resources and how to reduce the costs. Practical classes involve local shale and sandstone vegetation systems and the organisms using them. A weekend camp in a bushland area is a feature of this unit and involves mammal trapping and using fauna survey techniques.
