About this Unit
Learning to work in groups is central to work as a Social Ecologist. The aim of this unit is to introduce people to the field of group work through exploration of the theories and methods that have proliferated over the last twenty years. Experience also tells us that group work is learned by experience. Therefore this unit is taught reflexively: the learning group formed will be both the subject and the object of the exploration. Central to the unit is working with difference leading to the essential skills of negotiation and mediation.
