About this Unit
An ecological world view places emphasis on the interrelationships of people and things including the notion that outer and inner experiences mirror each other. The aim of this elective is to explore existing narratives about interpersonal communications which enable relationships between people and, people and the environment. Together we will reflect and discuss interpersonal communication theories and practice and the narratives which inform our personal communication. This unit aims at students developing alternative narratives which enhance communicating and negotiating. The emphasis is on relationships as interactive and reciprocal feedback loops which help us communicate our intended meanings. Supporting the skills and theories of interpersonal communicating are the values and attitudes that we have as we relate, our metaskills.
